MY ZONES OF GENIUS
I love the nonprofit world. I love writing the stories that tell the world about the important work they do. Whether it’s web content, social media content, narrative development, press releases, donor letters, newsletters, WHATEVER YOU NEED, I’ll be your communications partner.
GENERATING NEW IDEAS. SOLVING BIG PROBLEMS
You probably tell your story every day when you’re asked questions about what you do. What does your nonprofit do? What is its mission? Who does your nonprofit benefit? What is the biggest problem you’re faced with right now? How much money does it take to run your nonprofit? What do you hope to accomplish in the next year? Five years? You may be comfortable verbally discussing your organization’s purpose, who you serve, goals, and visions but it’s not as easy writing it down. I’ll get your story written down or help you do it yourself. Your proposals will not only be more fun to write but also more enjoyable for the funder to read from the opening sentence to the closing paragraph.
Food & Grocery Writer
I also love to work with Natural & Organic Food & Products. In my 15+ years in the business I’ve worked in or with just about every aspect of natural, organic and specialty foods – on the sales floor, in the back room, product conception to production to distribution, sales, marketing and demos. I am passionate about this industry, I’ve put my heart and soul into it.
The grocery store and kitchen were my mother’s domain and like most children I was NEVER going to be like my mom! I was different and passionate about much more important issues and a career outside the home and especially not in the kitchen! Yeah, not so much. I unexpectedly, but now delightedly, came around full circle have been drawn to the kitchen, shopping the aisles, working in the back room and behind the scenes, and on the road discovering what the grocery industry is all about – particularly in Natural, Organic, and Specialty foods.
During my years at Whole Foods Market, I was also brought into the Marketing and Community Relations arena. Building partnerships between different businesses, people, and community organizations blended my passion for good, whole, food and helping people. My sales background built my understanding of how to craft a great pitch.
